Programs

PBSync (download .dmg)

Incremental backup utility for OS X

PBSync is a graphical frontend for a variety of OS X command-line tools. It provides a simple way to create and maintain incremental backup files. I built it to make the process of backing up my Powerbook a little less painful, with the side-effect of learning basic AppleScript. I've decided to release it publicly, but beware, its beta to the full extent of that word.

Xomify (download .dmg)

XOM bootloader installer

This software was a collaboration between myself and Compufix from the OnMac.net forums. It became obsolete the exact day that it was finished. Xomify was made to simplify the process of installing the XOM bootloader, a piece of software that emulates a BIOS on the new Intel Macs, thus allowing Windows XP to be installed. XOM was made irrelevant by Apple's very surprising release of Boot Camp, a wholly better and officially ordained solution for installing Windows on Mac hardware. Apple is getting better at keeping secrets - the rumormills totally missed this one.
The source code to Xomify is also available.

Photoshop Steganography Set (download .zip)

This is a set of three custom Photoshop plugins and two actions that can be used to easily hide one image within another.

Games

Dash (play game)

Demo game for the Dashboard Z-Machine

This was meant to be the internal demo game for an OS X Dashboard widget I was working on. The widget was based on zplet, a Java z-machine interpreter. Unfortunately I don't know Java, so the modifications needed to get my widget running properly were never completed. If I get some help, the widget may some day be released. Until then, the demo game will remain playable inside this web-based mockup of the widget.

Inform Language Module (download .zip)

Code coloration in TextWrangler and BBEdit

This is a codeless language module for the Inform programming language. It is written in XML, allowing easy modification. Inform, though a relatively obscure language, is by far the most popular language for programming Interactive Fiction (text adventure games). IF is almost a dead art, having largely disappeared alongside Infocom, the creators of the famous Zork series of games.
